JC Penny Jam Concert
I can’t believe that I forgot to post an entry about Kat’s performance at the JC Penny Jam Concert! You must understand though.. I kept spazzing about it for weeks now that I totally forgot to write an update about it. Seriously though, this would be my all time favorite performance from her! Everything was absolutely magical! Katharine performing with some of the other big names in the industry like, Andrea Bocelli, Kenny Chesney, Sarah Evans, Mary J. Blige, Etc.. and of course Music Director and Producer, the 14-time Grammy award winner, Mr. David Foster. By the way, he’s the one who produced Katharine’s single "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" which turned out brilliantly! I’m wishing that after Kat’s one year contract with 19E ends that she would immediately team up with David Foster. There’s no doubt that he’ll turn her into a major International Superstar.
Alright, well on to the show!
Katharine first sang "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" She was wearing a long silky gown.. Well, okay I ain’t describing it since you can see it in the picture posted above. lol. She sang the first few lines in Acapella just like what she did during AI. But ended the word "rain" in a much higher note, which makes it all the more breathtaking as the last note keeps wringing in your ears. She continues to sing the next verse and this time, with the orchestra playing along. While singing, she kept on descending the stairs slowly and carefully, making sure that she managed to land on each single step. She got onto the platform by which the orchestra conductor was standing on and stayed there for a minute or so and slowly made her way into the second set of stairs and right onto the stage.
Again you can see her eyes glowing.. lol.. and her smile as well. She started walking towards the very near end of the stage and made that cute litte wave she does to the audience. The cameras following her every move.. Then she sang the last few lines of the third verse.. "That’s where you’ll.. find Me-e-e-e" it was simply amazing! she sang the first few lines of the second chorus with more power and passion this time around, emphasizing every single note on the song and quickly softened her voice on the next lines. "Bluebirds fly.. Birds fly.. Over the rainbow, then why then oh why can’t I."
Her voice remained soft and made a quick pause right after she sang "If happy little blue birds fly.. beyond the rainbow.." and resumed "Why Oh Why.." and belching out that powerful voice "Caaannnttt I—-"….
And that performance gave her a standing ovation. By the way, if you’re wondering why I’m so detailed about describing her performance, it’s because I don’t want you guys to miss out on anything. I would be posting a video of this, but as a warning, it’s a huge file… about 91 MB. I’m posting it on a video hosting provider but depending on your internet connection, it might take a while if you’re using Dial-Up. So just in case no one can see the video, I’ve already done a summary of it for you. I’d encourage you to watch the video though, trust me it’s so darn good! Plus it’s in High Definition which makes it all worth the wait.

Okay.. So on to the next.
The next song was "Somos Novios" which means "It’s Impossible" in English. This is one of Andrea Bocelli’s song which supposedly was to be sang with Christina Aguilera. (They have performed a duet of this song before and it’s included in Andrea’s "Amore" CD.) Anyways, David Foster announced Andrea Bocelli and the crowd was on it’s feet. He went out with Katharine escorting him towards the stage.
The orchestra started playing and Bocelli went to sing the first verse.

I’ve always loved Andrea’s voice. It’s so pure and simple, truly a classic. After singing the last note of the first verse, Katharine joins in and sang the first four lines of the second verse.
"Somos novios
Mantenemos un cariño limpio y puro
Como todos
Procuramos el momento más obscuro"
and then Both of them sang the Refrain:
"Para hablarnos
Para darnos el más dulce de los besos
Recordar de qué color son los cerezos
Sin hacer mas comentarios, somos novios"
Kat’s and Andrea’s voice matches so perfectly that it gives you chills down your spine. Two angelic voices blended together in a foreign song which makes it all the more enchanting. Doesn’t it? I love it when I don’t know a single word they sang, it just makes the performance rather interesting and so mysterious in many ways that it leaves you breathless. I particularly loved the way Kat sang the words "Los Cerezos"…

Geeezzz… Two entries in one day. I’m on a roll! I guess it just proves that I don’t have a Life. Haha! I’m fine with it though..
