Top 2 Finale

Diva Last night, May 23 2006, The final top 2 contestants stepped up to the stage to perform their last and final performances in American Idol. The contestant that has won America’s heart will be named the winner of the American Idol.

So let’s get this show on the road. First off, Let’s take a look at Katharine’s performances.

But before that, I want to mention the "Rose Project" I’ve been a member of the Kat Pack and they started this project to show our love and support for our gal. Everyone in the pack called the Sherman Oaks Florist and ordered a single Red Rose, which they called "McPhee Rose" the target was to order at least 1000 roses for Katharine and it was to be delivered at her house, which was changed, they decided to deliver it to the Kodak Theatre in Kat’s dressing room before she performed tonight. It was a great idea and I am glad that I got to be a part of it. She recieved the flowers, the total count was like over 700 roses (I think), and thanked her fans after her first performance. It’s a good thing Ryan brought it up, so she was able to thank us, which was awesome! Good job KatPack!

Okay down to business…

First performace: Black Horse and a Cherry Tree

Black_horse_and_a_cherry_tree I think she did good overall but I noticed something about her. She seems a little tired and doesn’t seem to be like the Kat we all knew.

She wasn’t bubbly and goofy like all throughout the performance and I don’t know why.

At first I thought she was just too nervous or very emotional, now that it’s down to the final 2.

But I think she did good, she didn’t suck at it but it’s just average for me.

I love the song though! I think she did great during the first time she performed it.

Here is a video of it by the way…

Second Performance: Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Somewhere_over_the_rainbow I have to say, I wasn’t too keen on the idea that she will be performing Somewhere Over the Rainbow again, two weeks in a row. But you know what? She was amazing! I mean, she can pretty much sing this all over again and I would still be thrilled with her performance. This is where she really excels. Kudos to Kat!

Third Performance: Her Debut Single "My Destiny"

My_destiny When I first heard the song, I was like "Oh My God! What the hell were they thinking?" The first verse sounded too low for her voice but it was okay during the Chorus. I was just literally confused, why the hell would they write a song like that? Don’t get me wrong, I love the lyrics of the song but the notes in the beginning was just too low for Kat. I’m sure she’s not to keen about the song either.

But when I listened to the song again, I realized it wasn’t at all that bad. To be honest, I’m actually singing along with it. In the end, I thought the song was great. Especially if you watched her perform it. It was just amazing! To see her out there and finally make her dreams come true. I’m telling you, I loved it! The moment the back up choir showed up on stage I was totally moved by it. I totally cried. It was just a wonderful moment for Kat, because she finally made it. I’m sure whatever the outcome may be, she will have a bright future ahead of her.
