Somewhere Over The Rainbow
Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high. There’s a land that I’ve heard of once in a lullaby… remember that song? well who could forget? The original version was sung by Judy Garland who played as Dorothy in the Movie classics, the Wizard of Oz. But now, it’s time for Ms. McPhee to raise it to another level. It’s down to the Top 3, each of whom is to perform three songs each. The first song is to be picked by Clive Davis, a legend in the music industry. Second will be the judges and the third would be the contestants own song choice.
And here are Katharine’s song choices:
First: I Believe I can Fly

Third: I Ain’t Got Nothing But The Blues
Alright so here is my say in all of her performances….
*I Believe I Can Fly
The judges were really hard on her with this one particularly Randy and Paula. I really think she did great and I’m so impressed by her performance on that one. Mostly because the song is a very popular song and if you’re dealing with that kind of music, you have to step up the plate and make it your own and that’s exactly what Katharine did. I don’t know what the hell they were thinking. I noticed that if Katharine sung a Whitney Houston song, they would compare her to them, which is ridiculous! Clive Davis chose I believe I can Fly for Katharine because the idea was to make it her own, don’t they get that? At least Simon came to her defense (I love you Simon! but only at that time…)

Oh that was PHENOMENAL! brilliant I tell you! simply brilliant! It was just amazing! Magical! She opened up her performance in an acapella then somewhere along the lines of "Somewhere over the rainbow" the band played along with her. It was just mesmerizing….
Now the judges have no reason to criticize her on this one. She totally nailed it!
Simon says: "It was the best single performance of the competition today"
Wow! A compliment coming from Simon means a lot more than coming from Randy and Paula who always have nice things to say. Seriously, who ever listens to Paula? I have a feeling that she’s always drunk in the show. Why is she even a judge? God! There are so many people out there who knows a lot more about music than she does. Ugh!
Anyhow Katharine was amazing! That was truly her moment…

Okay now this is what Kat loves to do. This is more of her element. She loves to do blues and jazzy kind of songs. Many didn’t really like it but I did… during these kind of performances, she really goes out and just plain have fun. Her personality shines out more when she sings these kind of songs. It was just average though, I prefer her "Black Horse and a Cherry Tree" performance. She was just outstanding!
