A Star is Born
She may not have won American Idol but one things for sure, She captured the hearts of many with her enchanting voice and captivating beauty. There is no saying goodbye for Ms. Katharine Mcphee, after all it’s just the Beginning of a never ending journey.
It wasn’t long ago that this sweet and shy young woman first appeared at the audition doors of San Francisco and sung her way to Hollywood. The moment she opened her mouth and sang "God Bless The Child" there was absolutely no doubt that the girl can sing.
Weeks after that, she would get raving reviews from all three judges. People getting blown away by her gorgeous beauty and God given talent. It is without a doubt that she will be the next American Idol.
Then that time came when everything just didn’t seem right. Weeks later she was in the bottom 2 and was almost that close to being eliminated. Fans were astounded and dumbstruck, who could have thought that McPhee ended up in the bottom 2? But from that moment on Kat’s fan grew stronger and never again will they be complacent.
Once again, Katharine took the stage and sang "Someone to watch over me" with that song our girl stood out and shone brightly than ever. Even Simon a.k.a Mr. Ego agreed and said "You made the professionals look like amatuers tonight" one of the most remarkable remark he ever made.
And it didn’t end there… She even raised it to another level when she took on a Whitney Houston song. "I Have Nothing" made Simon eat his words. At first the judges, particularly Randy and Simon, disagreed and thought the song was too big for her, but when they took another look at her performance Simon apologized.
But during the next couple of weeks, AI judges finally made their move and created a plot to ensure that this year’s idol will certainly be a male.
Thus has begun the battle between the sexes. This would probably the most intense moment in Katharine Mcphee’s life. Week after week the judges would rip her apart and tried to bring her down. The main reason why she was no longer on her game and was inconsistent throughout. But through all the criticisms and insults that she has faced, she remained strong.
Down to the final 4, where Katharine was the only female left in the competition. Their theme? Graceland. Considered to be a male theme which is a total disadvantage for her. But she never gave up and did the best she could. In the end, hearing the judges comments, she lost hope and was finally ready to go home. Then comes the biggest shocker in AI history, Chris Daughtry, the favorite to win this competition was voted off and Katharine stayed behind.
Now AI have to find means to bring Katharine down because obviously Katharine has a huge fan base that always came to her rescue. This was the time the show got even uglier and so was the judges. Interviews the next day made it clear to America that they wanted a male idol this year.
But by next week, Katharine sent them a message. She sang the song "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and blew everyone away, even the judges couldn’t deny that it was magnificent. So now AI had to find a way to stop her, or else, their chances of having a male idol this year will be gone.
Rumors, Scandals, everything possible that can make the viewers hate Katharine Mcphee was made. She was called a fake, her mother a *bleep* anything goes. Then the lack of support from her own hometown. All of these, just to throw her away. No one cared if Kat’s feelings was shattered, no one cared if she was devastated, no one cared, no one listened.
It seems their plan is finally working. Now Taylor is their new American Idol.
I only have one thing left to say… Never again will I watch a show like this, ever again. It’s not that I was dissapointed that Katharine didn’t win, but how they treated her on the show. Sadly, this is the price you pay in Hollywood.
To Katharine, I am so proud of you for making it this far. I know that you will make it big in Hollywood because you are a talented young woman. You will definitely go the distance…
You will always be my American Idol.
